Who We Are

We’re a small, volunteer-run charity with strong links to Hartlepool. We live here or nearby, and we care about the town and its communities. We have experience running a Library of Things and are now bringing that, along with pop-up Repair Cafés, to Hartlepool to help people save money and make everyday life a little easier. We’re friendly, open, and always keen to hear ideas. If you’d like to volunteer, share skills, or get involved, we’d love to hear from you.

Susan (trustee) – I am Bedford born, with a background in administrative work alongside many years of involvement in community projects. I’m particularly interested in practical, people-led ideas that help communities support one another.
Having recently moved to Hartlepool, I’m excited to help grow local projects that are useful, welcoming and rooted in the town. I love living by the seaside and am currently working on plucking up the courage to swim in it!

adrian (trustee) I’m a social activist and over the years have downsized several times – donating belongings to charities and members of the public. Now I can donate them to The Rework Collective! It just feels great and gives you space back. I had a fishing rod I hadn’t used for 20 years – made someone very happy. As did a collection of tools I didn’t use. And a lawn mower that was no longer needed. So donate, volunteer or join and help build a great sharing community in Hartlepool.
Oh and I’d love to set up a community garden too if anyone is interested!
